Shutting down for Christmas?

Is your business shutting down for the Christmas/New Year period? If so, now is a
good time to start planning and notifying your employees about the shutdown.

Most Awards now specify rules around shutdowns (including shutdowns over the
Christmas and New Year period) and among the rules is an obligation for employers
to provide impacted employees with at least 28 days’ written notice of a temporary
shutdown.
